At Conservation Masonry Ltd. Our dedicated team based in Glasgow specialise in creating high-quality stonework, with a particular focus on the sensitive restoration and conservation of historic properties.
Our talented team of carver brings expertise and craftmanship to every project, ensuring that each piece reflects our dedication to quality.
We offer comprehensive Banker Masonry services, specialising in the traditional craft of hand-dressing stone alongside creating traditional to more contemporary profiles of stone.
We utilise equipment such as air tools, mechanical saws, stone cropper and a primary and secondary saw. This blend of old-world craftmanship and cutting-edge technology ensures precision and excellence in every project.
While our primary focus is on contractual work, we do occasionally accommodate public projects. The majority of our stone is used in these larger-scale contracts, but we are always happy to consider bespoke orders when possible. See some examples below.
Our process begins with raw blocks from a variety of quarry suppliers and ends with a beautifully finished piece of stone, ready to serve as a timeless part of your project. From structural elements like lintels, cills, mullions and rubble walling to decorative features such as bespoke carvings and lettering, there is little our team can’t create using the finest natural sandstone.
Andrew PK Wright“The A-listed façade of William Leiper’s design for the Academy and Town Halls, all that was left of a building that had suffered the ravages of two major fires and decades of neglect, posed every conservation challenge imaginable in bringing the structure back into use. The team from Conservation Masonry rose to the task. Adopting a cautious approach and demonstrating a wide range of skills, its appearance within the historic townscape of Dumbarton has been transformed.”
