BRUNTSFIELD HOUSE, EDINBURGH
Now forming part of James Gillespie’s High School in Edinburgh Bruntsfield House was originally on the site of a castle that due to a fire destroying much of the fabric was re-built in 1544 in the style of a z-plan style house.
As part of the restoration and ongoing maintenance of the building Conservation Masonry were employed in 2013 to completely re-point the façade of the building together with numerous stone indents and replacements including the re-carving of an ornate thistle dating from 1605 above one of the main feature windows.
