One of Conversation Masonry’s flag ship contracts in 2018 was the complete restoration of the external and internal stonework at Jordanhill campus or formally known as Jordanhill college of education.
A stunning red sandstone building which is said to have the same footprint size as Buckingham palace. Cala Homes approached Conservation Masonry in 2018 where both companies sat round the table and discussed the restoration package ahead, this package/contract was a massive undertaking for Conservation Masonry given the sheer size of the building but both Cala Homes and Conservation Masonry were very eager to draw up a programme that could be adhered to and both parties were very excited about what the end result would look like. |
Huge volumes of Locharbriggs sandstone were carved/sculpted within our yard on South Street and then deployed to site as replacement stones for weathered existing and ruinous stones, a complete DOFF cleaning in tandem with a repointing schedule were also carried out to completely restore tne entire look for the property. Our onsite masonry team and our sculptors yard worked hand in hand for over 4 years to bring this huge landmark back to its former glory, we also carried out structural repairs to the buildings twin towers and many other structural masonry repairs were executed by ourselves throughout the structures. Conservation Masonry has a great working relationship with Cala Homes and we were very proud to work as a partnership with them on Jordanhill Campus.
